There’s something truly special about photographing families during their travels, and this Sydney extended family session with Jihye and her family visiting from New York was a perfect example. Jihye reached out before their vacation, hoping to capture some memories together. She was travelling with her husband Larry, his sister, and their parents – and wanted to make the most of their time in Sydney.
We met on a stunning Sydney morning down by the harbour, with a beautiful glow on the Opera House. The timing was perfect – early enough to enjoy the quiet beauty of the city before it got busy and with just the right amount of warmth in the winter sun. The setting couldn’t have been more iconic, with sweeping views of Sydney’s most recognisable landmarks in the background.
Although Jihye’s parents-in-law didn’t speak English, we connected through gestures, laughter, and a shared sense of joy. Photographing families from around the world is always a privilege – and this session was a lovely reminder that connection doesn’t need words.
Jihye & Larry - I can't wait to share the rest of the gallery very soon. ♡
