When Britt travelled to Sydney from Norway for the first time, she wanted to experience Bondi Beach and have some portraits taken to remember her visit.
We spent time exploring the beach, walking along the shoreline and making the most of the beautiful Sydney light. The result was a relaxed collection of solo portraits that captured both Britt and her experience of Bondi.
I love photographing solo sessions at Bondi because there is so much room to move, explore and create different portraits without the experience feeling staged. I'll guide you throughout the session while giving you plenty of space to relax and be yourself.
Bondi gives you so many different settings within a relatively small area. We moved between the beach, rocks, sandstone and promenade, creating portraits that felt different from one another while still telling the story of the same morning.
For a solo session, I love this variety. Rather than staying in one spot and repeating the same pose, we can walk, explore and stop whenever I see something that works. I'll guide you as we go, so you don't need to know what to do in front of the camera.

You don't need to know how to pose or feel completely comfortable in front of a camera before your session. I'll guide you throughout, with simple direction and different ideas for movement and composition as we explore Bondi together.
The aim is to make the experience feel easy and enjoyable, while still creating beautifully composed portraits that feel natural and like you.
Britt also wanted to capture some portraits around the Sydney Opera House, and moving from Bondi Beach to Sydney Harbour gave us a completely different setting. The architecture of the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and the water created a very different feel from the morning at Bondi.
I love incorporating more than one location when a visitor has the time. It means the photographs tell more of the story of their time in Sydney, while giving us completely different backdrops and light to work with.
