Anthony had travelled from Los Angeles to Sydney with a very special plan. During an evening walk along Bondi Beach, he was going to ask Britt to marry him. She had no idea what was coming, and I was there to capture the moment as it unfolded.

A Surprise Proposal by the Ocean
Visiting Sydney from Los Angeles, Anthony wanted to make his time here unforgettable by planning a surprise proposal for Britt. Bondi Beach was the setting for their evening together, with the ocean providing a beautiful backdrop for such an important moment.
As they walked beside the water, the moment arrived. Anthony got down on one knee, and Britt's reaction said everything. There was surprise, laughter, excitement and the kind of happiness that makes these moments so wonderful to photograph.
Being there to capture a proposal discreetly means I can photograph the genuine reactions as they happen, without interrupting the moment or asking a couple to recreate it afterwards. The little expressions, the first embrace and the realisation of what's just happened are all part of their story.
Britt was over the moon. She couldn't stop smiling, and the excitement continued through every hug and kiss. It was lovely to see them enjoying the moment together, taking in the fact that they were newly engaged.
Engagement Portraits at Bondi Beach
Once Britt had said yes, we continued along the beach for a relaxed series of engagement portraits. After all the excitement of the proposal, this part of the session gives couples time to enjoy being together while I capture photographs that reflect how they are feeling.
With the waves rolling in and the sand stretching along the shoreline, Bondi gave us a beautiful variety of backdrops without needing to go far. I kept the session relaxed, with gentle direction and plenty of room for natural moments to unfold.
