Max and Izzy were visiting Australia on their first vacation together. For Max, it was also his first time travelling outside Australia, and he wanted to make their time together even more special by asking Izzy to marry him.
Max and Izzy’s Sunset Proposal Beside Sydney Harbour
So one lovely evening, as they enjoyed a sunset stroll beside Sydney Harbour, Max popped the question. Izzy was filled with emotion and happiness, and of course, she said yes. 💍
After they had some time to enjoy this moment together, we explored the harbour for their engagement photographs, with Sydney’s iconic landmarks providing a beautiful backdrop to the beginning of their engagement.
Planning Max and Izzy’s sunset proposal
Max had started planning his proposal months earlier, wanting to make the moment special for Izzy. We worked together behind the scenes to bring his plans to life, talking through the best time for the proposal, choosing a location beside Sydney Harbour and even discussing somewhere for them to celebrate over dinner afterwards.
It was lovely to help Max organise those details and see his plans come together when the evening finally arrived.
Engagement photos beside Sydney Harbour
Sydney Harbour is one of my favourite places to photograph couples. The views are stunning, and although it offers some of Sydney’s most recognisable landmarks, it can feel a little removed from the busier spots that many visitors naturally gravitate towards.
After Max and Izzy had enjoyed their moment together, we walked along the harbour for their engagement photographs. We captured them with the Sydney Opera House in the background, found another perspective in the shadow of the Harbour Bridge, and finished beside the water as the sun was setting over Sydney.
I love the variety this location offers, with those beautiful harbour views providing a backdrop without taking attention away from the couple. For Max and Izzy, it was a lovely way to remember the evening they became engaged.
Max and Izzy’s sunset proposal was such a lovely moment to capture, and I’m so pleased we could document this special chapter in their story against the backdrop of Sydney Harbour.
