Billy and Amy had travelled to Sydney from Samoa, where they had been living for the past couple of years. Before their holiday, Billy contacted me with a plan to arrange a birthday photoshoot for his birthday.

There was just one little detail he hadn't told her. He was planning to propose. 💍

Billy wanted to organise everything before they arrived, so Amy would have no idea what was coming. Together, we planned a relaxed photoshoot around Sydney Harbour, with the city's famous landmarks providing the backdrop for a very special surprise.

Billy and Amy are from Ireland and had been living in Samoa for the past couple of years. Before their holiday to Australia, Billy contacted me to arrange what Amy thought would be a birthday photoshoot in Sydney.

Little did she know, he had a much bigger surprise planned. Billy was going to propose!

As he was visiting Sydney for the first time, we organised the details in advance so he could enjoy the moment without worrying about the logistics. We planned an early-morning photoshoot around Sydney Harbour, with the iconic Sydney Opera House and harbour providing the backdrop.

When the moment arrived, Billy got down on one knee and asked Amy to marry him. She was completely surprised and absolutely thrilled.

We met early in the morning for their session. With the Sydney Opera House and harbour as the setting, it was a beautiful way to begin their day in Sydney.

As we started photographing them together, Billy prepared to ask the question. Then, in the middle of what Amy thought was simply a couples photoshoot, he got down on one knee.

After the proposal, we had time to slow down, enjoy the excitement and take photographs of Billy and Amy together as an engaged couple.

We explored the harbour, chatted and laughed, capturing a mixture of relaxed portraits and photographs featuring Sydney's iconic surroundings. By the end of the session, it felt as though we'd known each other much longer than one morning.

Portraits at the Sydney Opera House

We finished the session with photographs around the Sydney Opera House, including its distinctive architecture and the surrounding harbour.

Having time for portraits after the proposal meant Billy and Amy could enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. Their photographs captured both the excitement of their engagement and a little of their time exploring Sydney together.
